Gareth Bale says Wales' “amazing” display to reach the last 16 felt as good as winning the Champions League.
Real Madrid superstar Bale took his tally in the tournament to three goals with his latest strike in France.
It completed a memorable 3-0 win over Russia as Chris Coleman's side leapfrogged England to top Group B.
Bale, 26, who won the Champions League for a second time this season with Real Madrid, says it is as good as any of his previous achievements in football.
Bale, who played a key role in Wales qualifying for their first major finals since 1958, said: "It was amazing.
“It was an unbelievable occasion. It is right up there with anything I have done.
“It was a great team performance, everything was spot on it was great. I thought our gameplan was perfect.
“Given the pressure of the game, that was one of the best team performances I have ever been a part of.
“We have had some amazing nights over the last few years but that was really incredible.
“To top the group is an even better feeling and it is one we want to keep having. There was pressure and that makes the performance even better.”[culled for UK Mirror]
