Kelechi Iheanacho’s participation at the forthcoming Olympic Games looks doubtful after it emerged that he has resumed pre-season sessions with Manchester City rather than join the Nigeria Olympic team.
Iheanacho, 19, is in the Nigeria provisional squad for the Games, but his participation is now in doubt, as he will return to England to team up with City for pre-season.
“We’re really not sure if he will go to the Olympic Games or not because he is scheduled to return to England for pre-season,” a top source said.
“It will depend on the arrangement the NFF will have with Manchester City which I’m not sure of but I’m sure he will start the pre-season with City,” according to africanfootball.com.
