Indian TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee postmortem reveals suffocation as cause of death

Popular Indian actress Pratyusha Banerjee was found hanging from the ceiling of her Bangur Nagar house in Mumbai's Kandivali area on April 1, Friday. Her body was discovered by her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh, who along with neighbours then rushed her to Kokilaben Hospital, where she was declared dead.

The postmortem of Pratyusha Banerjee was done by a team of doctors and was conducted for over three hours with the entire procedure videographed.

The actress' body was then taken to the Oshiwara Crematorium directly from the hospital and was cremated in the presence of friends and family.

Postmortem examination of Pratyusha Banerjee's body reveals 'suffocation' as cause of death. The report says it's a 'clear case of suicide' and there's no foul play, however it cannot be completely ruled out as well.

The report also mentions 'asphyxia' and says ligature marks were also seen around the neck.

Neighbours and friends who personally knew the actress are in disbelief and feel that she was too strong and happy a person to have committed suicide.

Her parents have recorded their statement with the police and claim foul play as they believe that her boyfriend Rahul used to abuse Pratyusha. The said boyfriend has been detained by police and is being interrogated at an undisclosed location.
