Rock in Abeokuta crushes mother, three children to death


Abeokuta which is the capital of Ogun State is famous with many rocks from which it derived his name from, but it was a different story on Friday night as one of the rock came crashing down on crushing a family of four to death.

According to the Nation, the victims killed were a mother (Silifat Lawal); two of her children (Raaheedat,15, Semia,4); and a grandchild  (Mariam).

DSS, NPF to Re-Examine Buhari’s Ministerial List


Any nominee with any challenge capable of creating image crisis for the government or unfit to be a minister may be dropped after screening by the DSS and the Nigeria Police Force according to a report by Nigeria’s Nation newspaper.

The Department of State Security Services (DSS) on Friday invited all the 21 candidates named by President Muhammadu Buhari for security checks.

The verification includes scrutiny of educational certificates, checks for any past prosecution, among others.

Darey Art-Alade releases new nude promo pictures


Well this is unlike the Award winning Singer Darey Art-Alade, except there is actual meaning to it. Darey  released the nude picture yesterday on his Instagram account. 

He tried to explain the essence of getting naked in the caption below:

“We disagree sometimes, but we don’t really fight,” the 25-year-old rapper said, explaining that when they do get into tiffs, they usually talk on the phone and make up.

#BringBackOurGirls Group Marks ‘The Girl Child’ Day


The Bring Back Our Girls (BBOG) group have joined the rest of the world to mark the day of ‘The Girl Child’.

This was revealed in a statement delivered by a representative of the group, Abubakar Yusuf in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

They noted that the continuous captivity and prolonged inability of the government to rescue the girls clearly portrays a breakdown of the social contract between the government and the citizenry.

Saraki is APC on Paper but PDP in his Soul - Bola Tinubu


Its no news that the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Bola Tinubu has never supported the election and process in which the Senate President Bukola Saraki got his mandate. The former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu has reacted to reports of feud between him and the Senate President.

A statement Sunday from Conakry signed by Sunday Dare, the former Lagos governor’s media director said: “The idea of an alleged conspiracy between Tinubu and Saraki against the President is an execrable lie.”

Chibok girls not pregnant for Boko Haram - Defense HQ


The Defence Headquarters has debunk media reports that many of the over 200 schoolgirls, who were kidnapped in April, 2014 from the Government Secondary School, Chibok in Borno State, have been impregnated by members of the Boko Haram sect.

According to report, the Acting Director, Defence Information, Col. Rabe Abubakar, said the publication by a national newspaper that one of the girls, who escaped from the insurgents and handed over to the military at Baga, made the claim, was misleading and spurious.
