An Australian pen heartbreaking tribute to drowned Syrian boys


An anonymous Australian has written a heartbreaking tribute to the Syrian toddler that was drowned while trying to find safety from the war in Syria. (Read Here)

According to the guardian, on Wednesday images of the lifeless body of a young boy  one of at least 12 Syrians who drowned attempting to reach the Greek island of Kos  encapsulated the extraordinary risks refugees are taking to reach the west.

The Lagos State Former Governor Babatunde Fashola who was a guest speaker at the 16th Bishop Mike Okonkwo Annual Lecture was ambushed by a journalist from The SUN, during the question-and-answer session.

The inquisitive reporter, Chika Abanobi, asked Fashola to respond to the recent allegations of corruption, specifically the N78m the former governor supposedly spent on his personal website.

One of the United States Presidential candidate, Donald Trump spoke to Rolling Stone Magazine about Kanye West announcing his run for the 2020 presidential campaign at the MTV Video Music Awards. 
Trump said: "I was actually watching," "I saw him do it. And I said, 'That's very interesting. I wonder who gave him that idea.'"He's actually a different kind of a person than people think," he says. "He's a nice guy. I hope to run against him some day."

Assets Declaration: President Buhari worth N30m, VP Osinbajo, N94m before May 29


Yesterday President Muhammadu Buhari and Vice President Yemi Osibanjo officially declared their assets. This was contained in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, 
“the documents submitted to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), which officials say are still being vetted and will soon be made public, show that prior to being sworn in on May 29, President Buhari had less than N30 million to his name. He also had only one bank account with the Union Bank. President Buhari had no foreign account, no factory and no enterprises. He also had no registered company and no oil wells,”

Woman who posted her menstrual blood on Instagram said she got death threat


A woman claims her menstrual blood on Instagram said she received death threat. Feminist Louelle Denor said she was driven to post the image after hearing reports that some social networks had begun censoring pictures of women on their period.

UK mirror reports that, the student posted a photograph on Instagram of her holding a menstrual cup covered in blood with the comment:

Nigerian Army restore 3,032 soldiers fired for indisipline


3,032 dismissed soldiers were reinstated yesterday,after being convicted by military courts for various offences.In all, 5,000 were convicted, but only the 3,032 were lucky.

Army Public Relations Acting Director Col. Sani Usman, revealed this at a briefing in Abuja.He noted that,some of the convicted soldiers had their sentences upheld by the committee.

According to him, only soldiers with disciplinary cases have been reinstated as those with criminal cases were not even considered by the committee.

Florentino Perez blames Madrid inability to sign David de Gea on inexperience Manchester United's board


President Florentino Perez has accused Manchester United of dragging their feet during David de Gea's botched transfer to the Spanish giants.

The Madrid chief claims the Red Devils took over eight hours to send the contracts back to the Spanish capital, meaning it was too late for Madrid to enter the transfer onto FIFA’s Transfer Matching System on time.
