Nominees for the 2015 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) have been announced with several Nigerian acts running to pick up honors at the Pan African Ceremony.

Part of the 10 artistes running to be named the Best Artiste Of The Year are five Nigerian stars, Davido, Flavour, Olamide, Wizkid and Yemi Alade, alongside other African acts.

The award ceremony is billed to hold in Lagos, Nigeria, in November 2015.

Remains Of 54 Dead Found In Papua from Indonesia Plane Crash

Indonesian rescue officials have recovered the remains of 54 people who died on board a Trigana Air plane that crashed in the Papua region on Sunday.

Head of Indonesia’s Search and Rescue Agency, Bambang Soelistyo, told reporters that “The plane was totally destroyed and all the bodies were burned and difficult to identify.”

The black box flight data recorder was also found.

The leader of Nigerian-based militant group Boko Haram has denied a claim by the president of Chad that he has been replaced according to online publication of Leading Britain’s Conversation dab digital radio website.

Chad’s leader Idriss Deby said last week that Shekau had been replaced as the group’s boss by Mahamat Daoud who wants to negotiate with the government of Nigeria.

Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, said the state was forced to take a World Bank Development loan because the Peoples Democratic Party-led Federal Government in 16 years looted the nation’s treasury and pauperized the states.

He, however, said it was a good thing that President Muhammadu Buhari came at the right time to stop the liquidation of the country.

The World Bank had approved a $225 million loan for Edo State Government in 2012, to be implemented in three tranches of $75 million per annum.

Nigeria Military Promise to End Boko Haram in 3 Months

The Nigerian Army has said that it is focused on wiping out Boko Haram within three months to meet the deadline set by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The military spokesperson, Sani Kukasheka Usman, while responding to the recent audio released by Abubakar Shekau, said it does not matter at this phase whether Shekau is dead or alive, adding that the army is committed to ending the insurgency.
