Pres. Buhari ask 25 Generals to retire within 6 weeks


About 25 Generals, who were affected by the appointment of their juniors as service chiefs last Tuesday by President Muhammadu Buhari have been given six weeks to voluntarily retire from the Nigerian Armed Forces.

Vanguard reports that,the immediate past Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Kenneth Minimah, disclosed this yesterday while handing over to his successor, Major General Tukur Buratai at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja. 

Singer Omawumi Welcomes Give Birth to a Baby Boy


Bottom Belle crooner Omawumi Megbele popularly called Omawumi has given birth to her second child - a baby boy. Omawumi welcomed her bundle of joy in the early hours of today in a hospital in the US. Mother and son are said to be doing great. This is the second child for Omawumi and her husband, Tosin Yusuf.

“Keep Boko Haram Under House Arrest, Not Opposition Party Members” - Fayose tells Buhari


Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State has condemned the recent invasion and sealing-off of the Abuja and Sokoto residences of the immediate past National Security Adviser (NSA), Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) by men of the Department of State Services (DSS).
The Governor said; “persecution of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stalwarts and others perceived as opposed to the All Progressives Congress (APC) Federal Government is an ominous sign of imminent return of dictatorship and draconian rule in Nigeria”.

Radio Biafra goes off the Airwaves

Nigerian government confirms shutting down of pirate channel, Radio Biafra, off the airwaves in south east of the country after earlier claims turned out false.

According to Premium Times, It was the first time the channel’s signal would be off in the last one week. The government’s initial claims of jamming the transmission and seizing Radio Biafra’s equipment were untrue as of Friday night.
