Ex Man United player Paul Scholes says Louis van Gaal was Wrong to Let Robin van Persie Leave

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes suggests that it was a mistake on the side of  Manchester United coach, Louis van Gaal to sell Robin van Persie this Summer.

The Netherlands striker was deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford by Van Gaal and was sold him to Turkish outfit Fenerbahce, while fellow forward Javier Hernandez was allowed to join Bayer Leverkusen and Adnan Januzaj was loaned out to Borussia Dortmund.

Van Gaal responded to the exits of the three attackers by signing 19-year-old striker Anthony Martial from Monaco on transfer deadline day.

However, Scholes feels that it was a mistake to let Van Persie leave the club without bringing in adequate cover up front.
“They’ve let three or four strikers go,” Scholes said on BT Sport after United’s 2-1 loss to PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night.
“Now, I think if we had kept one of them, kept a Van Persie or Hernandez then it looks quite strong.
