British actor George Cole is dead

British actor George Cole has died at the age of 90, his rep has confirmed.

The much-loved star, who was best known for his role as Arthur Daley in Minder, is thought to have been battling a long-term illness.

Cole's career spanned more than 70 years after landing a role in a touring musical at the age of 15, but is most recognised for playing Daley in the long-running series.
