MC Galaxy who came into limelight with his dance moves in Iyanya's Kukere music video recently had a chat with Punch and he spoke of his breakthrough and transition from been just a comedian and dancer into music proper. Read chats below ...
I never knew I was going to become a musician. I went to Davido’s studio with a friend and that was where I met Shizzy. He came up with the idea of doing a song to eulogise Akpabio. I told him I did not have money to record a song and he still went ahead to compose a beat for me. Davido fell in love with the beat and wanted it for himself. At the end of the day, we all came together, came up with lyrics and recorded the song.
The song went viral and a man called Mr. Tony came from nowhere and said because I mentioned Akpabio’s name in the song, he was going to give me money to shoot a video for the song. He gave me N2m which was used for the purpose it was designated. The video had more than 10 million views on YouTube.
On Davido beating him and having him thrown out of a studio
He is my very good friend and I don’t have a problem with him. We have come a long way and we do things together. If you have a friend and you don’t have one or two misunderstandings, then you don’t love each other. It is only okay for friends to disagree and then, they make up again.
On plans to have a babymama
No, I don’t. That is the trend now but have you heard of any prominent artiste from Akwa Ibom who has a baby mama? It is not our style. I am very different; I don’t smoke or drink and I don’t even have a tattoo. People question the kind of person I am but I love hanging out with ladies.
