According to the World Happiness Report, Switzerland is officially the happiest countries in the world, followed by Iceland in a list mostly dominated by European countries. Here is a list of the top 10 most happy countries:
1. Switzerland: Healthy GDP figures, strong social bonds and an increasing life expectancy has earned the "Land of Milk and Honey" the number one spot on the list.
2. Iceland: with a population of less than 400,000 people, This Land of Fire and Ice, with its extreme cold, and active volcanoes warms up the number two spot on the happy list. The country jumped from number nine in 2013 to number to this year.
3. Denmark: with a population of over 5 million people and a healthy GDP is takes the third position.
4. Norway: this country also has a population of over 5 million
5. Canada: The Great White North surpassed their neighbour, the US of A, by a clear ten places.
6. Finland: Finland is a Northern European nation bordering Sweden and Russia. Its capital, Helsinki, sits on a peninsula and coastal islands in the Baltic Sea, and is home to the 18th-century fortress Suomenlinna, the Seurasaari open-air museum and a neoclassical cathedral
7. Netherlands: The Netherlands, a country in northwestern Europe, is known for its flat landscape, canals, tulip fields, windmills and cycling routes. Amsterdam, the capital, is home to the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, the house where Jewish diarist Anne Frank hid during WWII and a red light district
