Its been more a week since after the Presidential Election which saw the incumbent President of Nigeria Goodluck Jonathan lose to his opposition Muhammadu Buhari and one of the pioneer campaigner for the Goodluck Jonathan his wife, Dame Patience Jonathan aka "Mama Peace" has been on isolation.
Many has asked where has she gone to as she has not been seen on occasions or in any function, however, yesterday Mama Peace resurfaced in Okrika, Rivers State, and did not expect the large turnout of people that welcomed her.
She described their warm welcome as a demonstration of their genuine love and affection for her and thanked them for their prayers, support and belief in her husband’s leadership.
One of the people, who spoke, Mrs Remi Kuku said she was proud of the first lady.
“History will be kind to her, no matter what anyone or group says about her; she is a goal-getter and I wish her well,” Kuku said.
Another was Mr James Bright, who said Jonathan had contributed immensely to the socio-economic development of Okrika people.
“She is the voice of the Okrika people; she fought for our cause and we owe her a debt of gratitude.
“We thank God for giving her the opportunity to serve and using her as an instrument to elevate the status and development of women in Nigeria,” Bright said.
Mrs Jonathan’s candidate for Rivers governorship, Nyesom Wike will be slugging it out at the polls on Saturday with the candidate of the All Progressives Congress Dakuku Peterside. Her presence in Rivers State is believed to be a big boost for Wike’s chances in the election.
