Yesterday we brought you a very disturbing video where a white cop (Michael T. Slager) shot a black man (Walter L. Scott) 8 times for broken taillight (Miss it? Read Here), the Cop has been reportedly fired by his Police division.
According to gawker, the white police officer who was arrested on Tuesday and charged with murder has been fired from the North Charleston, S.C. police force where he had served for five years.
Eddie Driggers, the North Charleston police chief, told reporters Wednesday that proper procedures were “obviously not" followed in the aftermath of the shooting.
Also the town's mayor, Keith Sumney, issued an executive order on Wednesday that all police officers start wear body cameras. Officials with the police department also told reporters that Slager's eight-months-pregnant wife will continue to receive health insurance.
David Aylor, Slager's former attorney told reporters that he dropped the officer as his client after the video was released.
