Finally Coach Stephen Keshi has publicly apologize to Nigerians for failing to qualify for the 2015 AFCON. Nigerians have been expecting this appeal because it was a huge disgrace and embarrassment for a defending Champion not to qualify for the prestigious Africa Competition not to talk of a country such as Nigeria, home of football in African.
Coach Stephen Keshi made this appeal speaking to Channels Television in Abuja, He said that his second coming as the Head Coach of the Super Eagles would witness a total turn around for the team and the development of Nigerian football.
He further appealed to football loving fans to support the Super Eagles at all times, promising an improvement in the performance of the team.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) had extended the contract of embattled Super Eagles Chief Coach, Stephen Keshi, putting an end to months of indecision.
Keshi will now lead the former African champions till 2017 after agreeing a two-year deal with the federation.
Reports say Keshi will earn 5 million naira monthly and also work with the NFF Technical Director and the NFF Technical Study Group under the new conditions.
This is coming ahead of the qualifiers for the 2017 African Cup of Nations where Nigeria is pitched in group G along with 7-time African champions, Egypt, Tanzania and Chad.
Stephen Keshi has been managing the Nigerian National Team since 2011.
