Canadian film and television actress Alberta Watson has died at the age of 60 after battling with cancer. She was a part of the actress in the series Nikita and 24. She played CTU Director Erin Driscoll for 12 episodes of the show's fourth season, remember her now?
Watson reportedly passed away on Saturday (21.03.15) in the arms of her husband, Ken, at Kensington Hospice in Toronto, Canada, after a lengthy cancer battle, a spokesperson from her talent agency has confirmed.
''Alberta died in the arms of her beloved Ken on Saturday March 21st at Kensington Hospice after a long and incredibly courageous battle with cancer.''
The star was best known for her role as Madeleine Pierce in 'La Femme Nikita' and for playing CTU Los Angeles director Erin Driscoll in '24' opposite Kiefer Sutherland from 2004 to 2005.
Tributes have been paid to the actress on social media, with actress Emily Hampshire writing: ''RIP Alberta Watson. There aren't enough words... Truly generous and special human being and actress. Ur missed (sic)''
'Nikita' star Dillon Casey tweeted: ''Canadian Legend Alberta Watson has passed away. She was a wonderful person. (sic)''
'Signed Sealed Delivered' actress Kristin Booth wrote: ''We've lost an incredible actor this weekend @Alberta_Watson Such an admirable woman with an amazing career!My heart goes out to her family.(sic)''
