It was hurtful and painful when Selena Gomez discover that she no longer have Justin Bieber by her side, she always wanted to keep the relationship with Bieber, but at that time Bieber has gone weird and Selena revealed she was “a little bit depressed”.
The Come & Get It singer completed a secret two-week stint in rehab last year. While her rep denied it was for anything to do with addiction, the 22-year-old has never confirmed what the reason for her stay was. But in a new interview with V magazine, the star opened up about some of the problems she has dealt with in the last year.
“There were a few months where I was a little depressed, where I wouldn't leave [my home] as much," she said. "I think I drove myself crazy for a little bit. It was just easier to say, 'Hey, do you mind running to the grocery store and picking some stuff up? I don't want to get photographed.'"
One of the reasons for her anxiety could have been her tumultuous on-off relationship with fellow singer Justin Bieber. Selena, who poses topless in the accompanying photoshoot, didn't address the 20-year-old by name, but did discuss how she will approach her next relationship very differently.
"I think the next time [I have a boyfriend] will be much different ... which will definitely not be anytime soon," she shared. "That's a growing up kind of thing. I was 18 years old, and it was my first love. The older I get, I'm guarding certain things more."
While things didn't work out between the pair, Selena doesn't regret what they had together.
“When you're young and you're being told so many different things ... it almost felt like all we had was each other, like the world was against us, in a way," she added. "It was really weird but it was incredible. I would never take it back in a million years. You live and you learn, you know?"
