West Ham striker Andy Carroll has revealed several close-up and rather graphic images of his knee following ligament surgery this week by posting the pictures on Instagram.
Despite the frustrating injury setback he seemed in good spirits at least, using the caption, "That's knee modelling out the window!! Great job by Mr Andy Williams."
After suffering a ligament tear in a recent Premier League clash against Southampton it was confirmed that the 26-year-old would be out of action for the remainder of the season, despite initial hopes of a 4-6 week absence.
On Tuesday night Carroll had also posted a picture of his leg fully strapped up before the operation, telling his followers, "Bandaged up game ready and another few hours looking at these four walls!!"
Carroll has already endured lengthy spells on the sidelines during his time at West Ham and prior to his latest injury had scored five goals in 14 Premier League appearances this season.
